Kitchen Cook

Providential Homes is a Christian faith based, not-for-profit, charitable organisation that specialises in providing emergency accommodation for those in necessitous or crisis circumstances.

A position has opened up for a Kitchen Cook on a casual basis, working as part of a team in Western Sydney. The position is 15-20 hours per week and the candidate must be available between 9am - 2pm during the week.

The role includes:

• Organisation of menu / meal plans and recipes that could be made on a larger scale at our kitchens for distribution

• Meeting meal requirements for each of the Providential Homes properties

• Maintain the kitchen and areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation

• Take ownership of the kitchens to efficiently manage all areas

• Quality Control of all food and food standards

• Cooking and prepping minimum 200 meals a day

• Reporting to Providential Homes Management and Board on a regular basis

• Attending regular staff meetings as required

• Additional tasks may be assigned by your manager in agreement with employee

Applicants should ideally have the following:

• A strong commitment to both the Mission and Vision Statements and to the values of Providential Homes

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Sound understanding of OH&S / WHS

• Efficient time management skills to work within time frames and busy schedules

• Positive, 'can-do' attitude

• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team

• Previous experience in similar position advantageous

• On the job training will be provided
