The Role

Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and highly organised Legal Secretary to join their Canberra team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a range of commercial practice areas, providing essential support to a team of experienced legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with clients and staff
  • Diary management and travel bookings
  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence (emails, memos, letters)
  • Monthly billing and trust account documentation
  • Managing electronic documentation and filing systems
  • Supporting general office administration

About You:This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a sharp eye for detail, and demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with document management and billing/time recording systems (e.g., FileSite, Expert, or similar)
  • The ability to manage workflows for multiple fee earners
  • A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Strong organisation, file management skills, and initiative

This role is NOT suitable for individuals on a Working Holiday Visa (WHV).
