The key accountabilities of the role:
- Quality Strategy: Work with Head of Quality to develop, implement, and champion the company-wide quality assurance strategy and standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the QA team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Automation: Drive the development and maintenance of a comprehensive test automation framework to improve efficiency and test coverage.
- Innovation: Research, evaluate, and integrate advanced technologies, including Generative AI and agentic systems, into the QA workflow.
The key responsibilities of the role:
- Lead and manage the entire testing lifecycle, from planning and strategy to execution and reporting.
- Design, develop, and maintain a robust and scalable test automation framework using modern tools and practices.
- Oversee the creation and execution of automated tests for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and dev-ops teams to integrate quality early and often into the development process.
- Establish clear metrics and reporting to track quality, test coverage, and team performance.
- Proactively identify and communicate risks and blockers to project teams and management.
The key requirements for the role:
- Leadership and Mentorship: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of QA engineers.
- Test Automation: Expert-level skills in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term strategies for quality assurance that align with business goals.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report on quality status and risks to stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of test automation frameworks (e.g., Katalon, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Solid programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Must-Have: A strong understanding of Generative AI, machine learning, and agentic systems and their potential applications in QA.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- 2+ years in a leadership or senior role, managing or mentoring a team.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing a test automation framework from the ground up.
- Proven experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Prior experience in researching and introducing new technologies or methodologies to a team, especially related to AI.
