The opportunity
Tableland Veterinary Service is seeking a new CLIENT CARE SPECIALIST to join our Malanda clinic.
Our CLIENT CARE SPECIALISTS are the heartbeat of our clinic, providing the first welcoming, friendly smile to our clients whether at the front desk or on the phone. They are responsible for providing a great first impression and making sure that our clients and their pets have a memorable experience with us.
They provide basic animal health advice on topics including parasite protection, nutrition, vaccination and desexing. They also keep the administrative wheels turning by taking phone messages, responding to emails and other client enquiries, coordinating appointments, updating client records, sending appointment reminders and keeping the public areas of our clinic clean, tidy and visually appealing.
The day to day role
Our client care team are based at the front desk of the clinic, greeting and farewelling clients who visit for veterinary consultations or purchase merchandise and medications. They are also responsible for answering phone calls and undertaking a number of administrative support tasks. Some of these roles include:
• Providing memorable customer experiences, compassionate support and assistance to clients on the phone and when visiting the clinic;
• Ensuring clear and timely communication between clients and the veterinary and nursing teams;
• Maintaining the public areas of the clinic in a clean, tidy and aesthetically pleasing state;
• Ensure that the display of retail products in the reception area is professional and appealing;
• Providing basic animal care advice on parasite protection, nutrition, vaccination and other general health matters;
• Processing financial transactions and managing the receipt and balancing of client payments.

Tableland Veterinary Service is a family owned group of mixed practice veterinary clinics across Far North Queensland. Our clinics are located in Malanda, Atherton and Ravenshoe on the Atherton Tableland, along with clinics in Charters Towers, Edmonton, Innisfail, Cooktown and Weipa. The position details
- Permanent part time role
- Flexible commencement date
- Rotating roster averaging 32-35 hours per week over a 4 week cycle
- Workday from 7:30am to 5:30pm with 1/2 hour lunch break
- Some Saturday morning work required
