About the Role
Join Monash Health as an Allergy & Adverse Reactions Pharmacist on a full-time basis. This specialised role focuses on improving patient safety through proactive allergy de-labelling, adverse drug reaction (ADR) management, and medication safety initiatives.
You'll work closely with the Allergy/Immunology team and multidisciplinary clinicians to optimise medication use and enhance patient outcomes.
You'll coordinate ward-based and day-unit allergy challenges, educate staff and patients, and contribute to policy development, research, and continuous improvement projects. This is an exciting opportunity to combine advanced clinical practice with innovation in medication safety.
What Your Day Might Look Like
- Coordinate and perform low-risk antibiotic allergy challenges at ward level
- Support complex/high-risk challenges in the Allergy Day Unit
- Update allergy documentation and ensure accurate EMR records
- Educate staff, patients, and carers on allergy management and ADR reporting
- Review and report adverse reaction incidents to Riskman and TGA
- Contribute to policy development, audits, and accreditation activities
- Participate in research projects and present findings at professional forums

About You
You're an experienced hospital pharmacist with a passion for medication safety and allergy management. You're collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to improving patient outcomes through education, research, and innovation.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong clinical pharmacy practice skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in interprofessional teams
- Desirable: postgraduate qualifications, clinical supervision training, and experience in allergy or medication safety
