Cabrini's Emergency Department is a fast-paced, 24/7 service staffed by specialist emergency physicians and highly trained nurses. While we do not treat major trauma or acute psychiatric cases, we manage a wide range of emergency presentations in a high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients within the ED and to inpatient wards

  • Assist with transfers to other departments including radiology (including high-acuity patients such as ICU-level and resuscitation cases)

  • Deliver patient care under RN supervision (e.g., assistance with meals, continence support, and pressure injury prevention)

  • Provide continuous patient observation and report concerns to nursing staff

  • Support falls prevention initiatives in the ED

  • Respond to patient and family queries, escalating to nursing staff as needed

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including bed-making and restocking supplies

  • Uphold patient dignity and respect cultural, emotional, and spiritual needs

This position suits someone with previous experience in a hospital or emergency department setting and a genuine commitment to patient care. You thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment and bring both professionalism and empathy to your work.

You will have:

  • Certificate in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification (as outlined in the position description)
