We're seeking a strategic and passionate Donor Development and Engagement Team Leader to drive donor acquisition, engagement, and retention across our individual giving programs. In this pivotal role, you'll lead regular giving, appeal campaigns, and donor journeys with a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and data-driven decision making.

Aligned with Beyond Blue's Strategy 2023+: Earlier, Easier, Together, you'll play a key role in delivering our Fundraising and Development Strategy 2023–28, ensuring financial targets and engagement milestones are met.

As a Team Leader, Donor Development and Engagement, you will:

  • Lead a high-performing team and align fundraising efforts across the organisation.
  • Deliver multi-channel donor acquisition and retention campaigns across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Build personalised, trigger-based supporter journeys to boost engagement and lifetime value.
  • Partner with Philanthropy team members to identify and nurture mid-value and major gift prospects.
  • Apply predictive modelling to uncover donor potential and tailor development strategies.
  • Maintain strong data governance for accurate segmentation and personalisation.
  • Oversee inbound donor communications across phone, email, website, and general inquiries.
  • Lead acquisition, onboarding, upgrades, and retention for regular giving programs.
  • Use CRM workflows, analytics, and market trends to improve campaign performance and ROI.
  • Uphold legal, ethical, and culturally safe practices, embedding inclusive engagement.

About you

To be successful you will hold a

  • Tertiary qualification in fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Ability to lead a high-performing team and foster cross-functional alignment
  • Agile leadership style with the ability to drive workplace change
  • Significant experience in donor relations, individual giving, or fundraising leadership
  • Strong skills in strategic campaign planning, execution, and donor journey design
  • Proven success in leading donor campaigns, managing CRM systems (Salesforce)
  • Proficiency in data analysis, segmentation, and performance reporting
  • Commitment to cultural competency, inclusive engagement, and community collaboration
