About the opportunity

Working a 2:2 FIFO roster from Perth, Altrad are seeking an experienced NACE Level 2 QA/QC Inspector to support a major structural remediation project in the iron ore sector. Leveraging your proven expertise in coatings inspection, blasting, and corrosion protection, you will ensure all works meet NACE standards, industry specifications, and project QA/QC requirements.

This role offers the opportunity to safeguard asset integrity and operational reliability by driving quality compliance, delivering accurate inspection reports, and collaborating closely with contractors and project teams.

Your day-to-day includes:

  • Conduct inspections and quality control testing of coatings and corrosion protection systems to NACE standards.
  • Oversee surface preparation, blasting, painting, and environmental condition monitoring to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, prepare QA/QC reports, and provide timely feedback to the project team.
  • Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and site personnel to resolve quality issues and support project delivery.
  • Perform audits, site inspections, and non-conformance reporting, recommending corrective actions where required.
  • Support a strong safety culture by actively participating in HSEQ initiatives and site training programs.

About you

  • NACE Level 2 Coating Inspector certification (mandatory) with 10+ years' industry experience, including 5+ years in QA/QC coatings and corrosion protection.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, including NACE, SSPC, ISO, and AS/NZS for coatings and corrosion control.
  • Experienced in surface preparation inspections, coating application processes, and interpreting technical drawings/specifications.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Process-oriented, with high attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality and asset integrity.
