BDS Mechanical is seeking a full-time Auto Electrician to join our Mackay team, working across both workshop and field service roles. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience on-site while becoming part of a large, secure, and well-established company.

BDS Mechanical Repairs is a rapidly expanding, forward-thinking company providing mechanical, auto-electrical, and welding services both on-site and in our fully equipped workshops. With 22 branches throughout Queensland and a fleet of more than 160 field service units, we offer dependable support across over 600,000 km² in Queensland and Western Australia. As a proudly privately owned business, we're committed to our team's wellbeing and to promoting a healthy work–life balance.
The successful candidates will possess the following:
- Relevant Trade Qualification
- Diagnostic experience
- LV, truck & trailer repair experience
- Mobile plant a bonus
- High level of technical ability & knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Strong fault finding skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Extra skills, experience, tickets and licenses will be advantageous
- Spanner knowledge preferred
- Aircon ticket and HV license a bonus
Your duties will include:
- Installing new vehicle wiring systems.
- Installing and troubleshooting immobilizer and alarm systems.
- Gathering information from customers about issues with their electrical system.
- Diagnosing electrical issues and proposing a course of action.
- Providing customers with estimated time and cost for repairs.
- Repairing and replacing faulty wiring or electrical systems.
- Servicing of electrical automotive parts
