The City of Launceston, an award winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Arborist
Position Number: POS0789
The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the care, maintenance and enhancement of Launceston's tree population, ensuring the city's parks, gardens and green open spaces are safe, healthy, and visually appealing. You will carry out arboricultural tasks to a high standard, using your technical knowledge and hands-on expertise to support a resilient and sustainable urban forest for the community.
As an Arborist, you will demonstrate Our Values in your daily work through teamwork, accountability and pride in presentation. You will contribute to a respectful and supportive team culture by communicating openly, taking responsibility for your work, and helping others when needed and have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Certificate III qualification in Horticulture
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in Arboriculture
- Have a current ChemCert accreditation
- Hold and maintain a Medium Rigid (MR) drivers licence as a minimum requirement
- Elevated Work Platform (WP) High Risk Work Licence
You will actively support a safe and productive work environment by following safe work practices, and by promptly reporting hazards, maintenance needs or site issues to your Supervisor. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure that services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Your role also supports continuous improvement by identifying better ways of working, sharing your expertise, and maintaining a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
