Assistant Retail Manager

We're looking for a proactive and relationship-driven Assistant Retail Manager to join our team and support the Retail Manager in delivering the centre's retail engagement strategies. In this role, you'll work closely with a portfolio of retailers, helping to maximise performance, strengthen relationships, and enhance the customer experience.

You'll also support the Centre Manager with day-to-day operations, lease administration, storage leasing, and budgeting activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal skills, commercial acumen, and a passion for retail to make a meaningful impact on the centre's success.

Please note this a 12month fixed term contract ending on the 30th September 2026

Key Responsibilities

Retailer Engagement & Support

• Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers to foster collaboration and maximise performance.
• Manage tenancy administration and retailer onboarding, ensuring compliance with pre-trade requirements.
• Maintain regular communication through updates, newsletters, and memos.
• Assist with retailer support strategies to drive sales, traffic, and profitability.
• Support the Retailer Excellence program and retailer performance reviews.
• Work with Marketing to identify and support retailers who could benefit from additional marketing initiatives.

Lease Administration & Storage Management

• Assist with lease variations, relocations, and storage licences.
• Manage the centre's storage budget and leasing activities.
• Maintain accurate tenant records and ensure compliance with agreements.

Centre Operations

• Support operational excellence and visual presentation standards.
• Collaborate with the Guest Experience team to manage feedback and enhance the customer experience.
• Recommend capital or operational improvements to boost presentation and performance.

Financial Support

• Assist with sales reporting, debt management, rental abatements, and budget preparation.
• Use systems such as Tableau, Salesforce, JDE, and Anaplan to manage financial data and reporting.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has proven administrative experience, ideally in retail or customer service.
• Is confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with JD Edwards is an advantage.
• Understands retail fundamentals, leases, and basic financial principles.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Has excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
• Can multi-task, prioritise effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
