About the Role
Shoalhaven Water is currently seeking Undergraduate Engineering Students (Civil, Environmental, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering) to join our professional work experience program
Shoalhaven Water is driving the development of emerging technologies and potential applications using research, industry networks and technology platforms. These include, but not be limited to, areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, sensing technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT) and water and wastewater treatment technologies relevant to the water industry.
Successful applicants may work in various areas of Shoalhaven Water, including planning, assets, design and operations. This position is based in Nowra and will work on a casual basis. It is expected that you are able to commit to 1-2 shifts per week and are willing to take on more during university break.
The focus of this position is to:
- To participate in projects as allocated.
- To provide technical engineering support to delegated supervisors and support staff to deliver Council's services.
- To work collaboratively with Council to identify emerging best practices and potential applications using research and industry networks and technology platforms.
- Ensure the work area's compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.

About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Current enrolment in Undergraduate Bachelor Degree of Engineering, specifically Environmental, Civil, Mechatronics or Electrical (minimum of 2 years completed)
- Current NSW General Construction Induction (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement in the position.
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
This position requires successful completion of 2nd year studies and an interest in pursuing a career in the water industry.
