About the Role

As the Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator, you will work closely with Clinical Nurse Managers to identify learning needs and deliver high-quality education programs. You will lead staff development within the perioperative team, using innovative teaching strategies and evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Launceston
  • Identify learning needs and objectives for individuals and groups
  • Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs in collaboration with the Education Manager
  • Deliver adult-learning-based clinical education and reflective practice
  • Provide mentorship and support for new staff members
  • Develop learning packages and competencies for perioperative units
  • Collaborate with clinicians, company representatives, and healthcare professionals to enhance educational programs
  • Support organisational change and review of relevant policies
  • Incorporate current research and evidence-based practices into education
  • Assist with mandatory training activities
  • Foster clear, effective communication across all levels of the organisation
What You Bring
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Postgraduate qualifications in education or relevant clinical area (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, mentor, and support nursing staff
  • Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience in a perioperative setting (Theatre, PACU, or Anaesthetics)
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills
