We are a fast-growing timber merchant family run business. Our brand is sold to the customers over NSW.

We have an opening for a Inventory clerk, responsible for the stock management and report analysis. This position will play an integral role in providing excellent service to not only our external customers but across the broader business.

The Inventory Clerk will be a part of the administration team based in Campbelltown Sydney working closely with sales and warehouse team.

The successful candidate will complete the following tasks:

Tasks

  • Validate picking slips to ensure quantities and product details are correct before dispatch.
  • Record and investigate stock discrepancies between the system and physical counts.
  • Receive and check incoming goods against purchase orders; ensure correct labeling, storage, and system updates.
  • Ensure all stock is stored in its proper location and promptly update bin locations in the system when stock is moved.
  • Organise and participate in weekly stock checks and periodic stocktakes to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain tidy, well-organized stock areas with clear labeling and accurate bin locations.
  • Provide feedback to management on stock issues, process gaps, or improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure sufficient inventory is available to meet sales and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain and update supplier records, including vendor price books in TIMMSAnywhere.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers within approved company guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoicing and stock return processes.
  • Conduct internal warehouse audits to ensure compliance with inventory and operational standards.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role (bonus if in TIMBER) ;
  • Ability to work within in high pressure multi taking environment, meeting dealings and having the ability to prioritise;
  • A strong attention to detail, accuracy and a high standard of work;
  • Exceptional computer literacy skills, utilising MS Office software;
  • A positive attitude and hands on approach to work.
