Your Opportunity:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a close-knit finance team in a full-time, permanent role with a family-owned wholesale and distribution business that proudly supplies leading retailers and hardware stores across Australia. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end accounts receivable and credit control across a diverse ledger of approximately 200 accounts.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is confident liaising with both internal stakeholders and major external accounts.

Your Role:

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable function within Microsoft Business Central
  • Oversee collections and credit control, including debtor account reconciliations
  • Set up new customer accounts, perform credit assessments, and establish payment terms
  • Handle and resolve payment queries, disputes, and escalations
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to address discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting
  • Collaborate with two part-time AR team members, supporting payment allocations across both major accounts and retail transactions

Your Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller/AR Officer in a small to medium-sized business
  • Confident managing a high-volume ledger with accuracy and ownership
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • System savvy – able to adapt to process changes and work effectively in Business Central (or similar ERP systems)
  • A problem solver who can explain and resolve complex queries clearly and professionally
