Job Description
We're seeking a Payroll Services Specialist with a strong background in time and attendance systems, who's passionate about streamlining processes. This is a permanent opportunity based in our Sydney office, offering the flexibility to work in a way that suits you.
Your primary focus will be ensuring payroll runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll handle day-to-day payroll activities, resolve complex issues, and provide practical solutions to make sure our team is paid accurately and on time. We're looking for someone with solid technical expertise—particularly in time and attendance—who has experience working in payroll within a medium to large organisation.
If you're proactive, always looking for ways to enhance processes, and dedicated to making things easier for everyone, you'll be a great addition to our team. We value straightforward, dependable professionals who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.
In this role you will:
- Prepare payroll in line with internal procedures, ensuring payments are calculated and paid accurately and on time.
- Process and maintain fortnightly payroll, verifying all data is correct and paid promptly.
- Monitor and resolve timesheet and schedule discrepancies to ensure alignment with payroll cycles.
- Support integration between WFM, WorkDay (HRIS), and Dayforce (Payroll), ensuring accurate timesheet and leave data.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements, offering guidance across People & Culture and the wider business.
- Investigate payroll errors, implement prevention controls, and contribute to risk management activities, including RCSA and maintenance of controls.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' payroll experience in organisations with over 1,000 employees
- Proven expertise in time and attendance systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll legislation, including taxation, superannuation, and leave entitlements
- Extensive experience with payroll systems (Ceridian Dayforce or similar highly desirable)
- Exceptional English communication skills, with a practical and customer-focused approach
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time management abilities, with advanced Excel skills
