The Opportunity

The Demand Planner will provide support to Country Chef by analysing market trends and sales data to develop accurate forecasts for product demand. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise inventory, reduce costs, and ensure seamless product availability.

This role plays a pivotal part in driving the end-to-end demand planning and S&OP process, translating commercial inputs into executable plans that balance service, cost and inventory. You'll have real influence over forecasts, capacity decisions and business performance.

Specifically, you will:

  • Analyse sales trends, market data, and historical performance to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align forecasts with business objectives.
  • Monitor and adjust forecasts based on market changes, promotional activities, and customer feedback.
  • Ownership of demand planning and S&OP outcomes -
  • Optimise raw materials, packaging and finished goods working capital to deliver customer required DIFOT at minimum cost
  • Champion the implementation of a fully integrated ERP system and introducing associated technologies to maximise performance
  • Execute orders against the sales/demand plan to maximize the service level of products to customers, within strict supply chain efficiency constraints to minimize total cost to serve.
  • Manage customer communications with customers, fostering effective collaboration and by driving proactive issue resolution.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Minimum of 5 years Demand/Supply planning experience (particularly in an FMCG/Retail environment - experience with major supermarket customers would be a huge advantage)
  • Inventory management/optimisation experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail (formal skills in analytics/statistics and strong MS Excel skills etc will be viewed favourably)
  • Understanding of Inventory Management within a retail environment
  • Problem investigation and resolution skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills in cross-functional environments
  • The ability to plan with precision and great attention to detail; noticing when we are getting off-track and proactively putting corrective actions in place.
  • Highly self-motivated with an ability to work well autonomously
