At Orange Sky, we're all about connection whether it's through clean clothes, warm showers, or a friendly chat with one of our incredible volunteers. We support Australians and Kiwis doing it tough, from those experiencing homelessness to people impacted by natural disasters. 

Our People & Safety Team builds the strong, supportive foundations that make this possible creating safe, inclusive, and empowering environments so our staff and volunteers can focused on what matters most: positively connecting communities. 

The Role

As an officer within the People & Safety team, you'll help keep our workplace safe, compliant, and full of good vibes. From ensuring our office is running smoothly, you'll make a real difference every day helping our staff, volunteers, and visitors feel supported, secure, and connected. 

What You'll Do 

1. Champion WHS - Support policies, procedures and training that keep our people safe. Help manage incidents and drive continuous improvement.
2. Keep our spaces running smoothly - Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and presentation of our offices, ensuring they're safe, functional, and a joy to work in. 
3. Coordinate contractors and suppliers - Build strong relationships and make sure our partners meet Orange Sky's standard for quality, safety, and service. 
4. Drive efficiency and improvement - Maintain systems and spot opportunities to make our workplaces safer, smarter and more supportive for everyone.

To thrive at Orange Sky, you'll bring a genuine passion for our mission and a proactive, can-do attitude. We're looking for someone who's keen to learn, stay organised, and help keep our people and spaces safe and welcoming. Ideally applicants are:

• Studying towards or holding a Cert IV in WHS (or similar qualification) - a plus, but not essential.
• A basic understanding of WHS principles and safe workplace practices, with enthusiasm to grow your expertise.
• Strong organisational skills and great attention to detail, with the ability to manage day-to-day tasks reliably.
• Confident communicating with contractors, suppliers, staff, and volunteers, and comfortable following systems and processes.
• A collaborative and supportive communicator, able to assist others and build positive relationships across the organisation.
• A practical, adaptable problem-solver who can stay calm and proactive in a dynamic environment.
• A genuine commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and well-maintained workplaces that reflect Orange Sky's values.
