A fantastic opportunity awaits for a qualified Plumber to join the Total Asset Maintenance Team in a permanent full-time role at Nepean Hospital. This dynamic position plays a key part in supporting Asset Management's mission to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective service outcomes through a whole-of-lifecycle approach.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the corrective and preventive maintenance of plumbing and hydraulic systems across domestic, commercial, and institutional settings, ensuring all fixtures, fittings, and equipment operate at peak performance. You'll also carry out installations and extensions as needed, review hydraulic drawings for upcoming NBMLHD projects, and contribute to the after-hours emergency maintenance roster.

What you will bring to the role

  • Current trade qualifications with extensive experience in plumbing and gas fitting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current WHS Act and relevant regulations as well as knowledge of current relevant Australian Standards
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to perform plumbing work and associated physical/manual labouring tasks in a safe manner including but not limited to the following; Performing scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures including back flow prevention devices, thermostatic mixing valves, hot and warm water systems
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to read plans, specifications and interpret drawings, estimate cost, time and materials of plumbing works
  • Availability to be on an afterhours call roster and to attend works at the NBMLHD after hours when called upon
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and must be able to take oral and written direction from the maintenance management and maintain a co-operative working relationship with management, other trades staff and hospital staff and maintain the Health code of conduct
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and computerised maintenance management systems
