About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead our HR function and support our growing team throughout the full employee lifecycle.

As we expand in the Hunter Region and beyond in 2025, your role will be central to building, developing, and looking after the people who make our work possible.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Recruitment – Write job ads, screen candidates, conduct interviews, complete probity and reference checks

  • Onboarding & Induction – Set up new starters for success from day one

  • Probation & Supervision – Support leaders in reviewing and mentoring staff through early employment

  • Training & Development – Coordinate internal and external learning opportunities

  • Return to Work Coordination – Support safe, compliant return-to-work processes for injured or unwell employees

  • HR Support – Respond to queries and support staff with professionalism and care

  • WHS & Compliance – Assist with safety documentation, risk management and maintaining compliance (especially with OCG and SCHADS Award requirements)

  • Incident & Complaint Handling – Assist in managing internal investigations

  • Systems & Reporting – Keep our HR records and systems in order

About You

  • Experience in a generalist HR or People & Culture role, ideally in a sole-charge or small team environment

  • Confident communicator who builds trust easily

  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Understanding of Return to Work coordination, or willingness to learn

  • Familiarity with SCHADS Award and OCG reportable conduct scheme – highly regarded

  • Valid Working With Children Check and Police Check required
