About the role

  • As a Diesel Motor Mechanic, you report to the Workshop Supervisor and are responsible for the maintenance/servicing of Heavy Diesel equipment and providing support to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance department.

This role requires you to:

  • Service and maintain heavy diesel engine machinery and equipment to required standards
  • Perform servicing maintenance and detect diagnose and repair machinery and equipment as required
  • Perform thorough investigation of assets that enter the Workshop
  • Conduct tests and make necessary adjustments to mechanical parts to ensure proper function after repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and assist in correct identification of replacement parts including capturing and reporting parts usage on work orders
  • Quality Operational Management (QOM) standards
  • Action issued work orders, ensuring works are accomplished in a timely manner and to correct specifications
  • Perform general housekeeping of workshop area and maintenance as required

Salary

A salary of between $76,000 and $80,000 is on offer. We also pay weekend shift allowances

About you

  • Trade qualified as a Heavy Diesel mechanic or Equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience in the field
  • A proven ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and work conditions including the ability to both work as part of a team and to work autonomously to complete tasks within required timeframes
  • Time management skills including the ability to plan ahead and reschedule in accordance with changes in priorities
  • Take an active role in a team environment, have good communication skills, be reliable, punctual and polite
  • A manual Driver's License
