About the role

As a Technical Test Analyst at Essential Energy, you will play a key part in ensuring our digital solutions are robust, reliable, and fit for purpose. You'll play a key role in establishing and leading the test automation capability and be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing thorough testing across the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), collaborating closely with development, QA teams, and business stakeholders. Your work will help ensure that software and hardware releases meet documented requirements and are delivered with minimal risk. You'll report on Test Automation objectives and provide valuable insights for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and coordinate test phases to meet project timelines, scope, and quality outcomes.
  • Develop and execute test cases based on system requirements and specifications.
  • Drive the test automation strategy in conjunction with the Testing Practice team and identify test automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams, and business stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Utilize SQL/KQL to query databases and analyse data integrity.
  • Monitor and report on Test automation objectives and outcomes.
  • Continuously improve and maintain the automated test suite for maximum reliability and provide recommendations for improvements.

About You

You are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for quality assurance and technical testing. You thrive in collaborative environments and have a strong understanding of both manual and automated testing within Agile or Waterfall frameworks. Your communication skills enable you to work effectively across teams, including remote colleagues, and you're comfortable mentoring others in best practices and technical tools.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in manual and automated testing within software development lifecycles.
  • Proficiency in automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, TOSCA, or Playwright.
  • Strong skills in SQL/KQL for data interrogation and analysis.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma of Information Technology or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
