About the Role

Primary responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the activities of the School are operated effectively and efficiently, providing a quality service to students and staff.

• Providing academic administration support to the Head of School of Education:

• Assisting with the recruitment, training and development, and scheduling of staff
• Supporting the documentation and dissemination of School processes to be followed
• Contributing to curriculum and course review cycles within the School
• Assisting with reviewing student appeals and grievances

• Lecturing in one unit per semester in agreed subject area, including managing the teaching and assessment of that unit.

• Build the profile and reputation of Excelsia with stakeholders, the community and potential students.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

• Hold a Masters or PhD qualification in relevant Education discipline.

• Teaching and unit/course coordination experience in a higher education setting (2+ years).

Essential:

• Committed Christian, involved in a local congregation.

• Sound knowledge of higher education governance and compliance requirements, including demonstrated ability to manage student appeals, grievances, and other escalated matters.

• Demonstrated experience in teaching at a tertiary level, including curriculum development and modification.

• An understanding of current and emerging trends in Education and training.

• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with proven experience in coordinating complex tasks such as scheduling, staff support, and course review processes.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to communicate effectively with students; ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues.

• Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools and previous experience in online education is desirable.

• Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diversity and ability to work with students, staff, and administrators, including pastoral skills in mentoring staff and supporting students.
