Description

Inspire, Influence, Lead

A forward-thinking and proudly independent School, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Development and Alumnae Relations to lead a culture of philanthropy and connection.

In the School's 150th anniversary year, and with a new Junior School launching in 2026, this is a pivotal moment for a highly visible and influential individual to shape a bold philanthropic vision that will influence generations of Grammar women, celebrate our legacy and secure our future.

This strategic role will report to the Principal and work closely with the School's accomplished Senior Leadership Team, supported by our experienced Development and Alumnae Relations staff.

About the role

You will champion major gift campaigns, cultivate meaningful relationships with donors and alumnae, and work closely with the Principal and Board of Trustees, who are deeply committed to a culture of giving and legacy building.

About you

You are a strategic and relationship-focused leader with the ability to influence, inspire, and connect across a diverse philanthropic community.

With extensive experience in philanthropic fundraising within a complex organisation, you bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
  • A demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction for the school's development programs and fundraising goals
  • Strong team leadership experience, with the energy to foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
  • Strong professional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to cultivate and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • High levels of integrity, sound judgment, personal credibility, and empathy, combined with the creativity and persistence necessary to promote a culture of giving
