Summary

Core Electronics is a leading online DIY electronics retailer based in Newcastle, operating via core- We are looking for a full-time Support Technician to join our team and help makers bring their electronics projects to life.

This position is ideal for those with a strong technical background and an interest in electronics, makerspaces, and DIY projects. A background in electronics assembly, troubleshooting, and customer support will be highly regarded.

About the Role

As part of the Technical Support Team, you will:

  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers via phone, live chat, email, and forums.
  • Diagnose issues and assist with troubleshooting electronics projects and products.
  • Manage warranty and returns processes, including technical assessments.
  • Test and evaluate new products for suitability and performance.
  • Support electronics manufacturing, assembly, and kitting tasks.
  • Suggest and capture improvements for our website and support resources.

Requirements

  • Strong interest and practical experience in electronics and DIY projects.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers to resolve technical issues.
  • No formal qualifications are required, but electronics or related training will be an advantage.

Workplace Details

  • Full-time role – Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm (excluding public holidays).
  • Based at our office at 40 Aruma Place, Cardiff, 2285
  • On-site role, not remote.
