Our staff are valued, supported, and encouraged to bring creativity, innovation, and care into their classrooms every day.Located in the beautiful South Burnett region, our school provides an excellent opportunity for teachers to make a real difference in the lives of students while enjoying the benefits of a welcoming regional community.**About the Position:** The Curriculum Coordinator (P–4) provides curriculum leadership and direction for Prep - Year 4 at St John's Lutheran School. Working closely with the Director of Primary, Deputy Principal, Principal, and wider leadership team, this role ensures that our youngest learners experience rich, developmentally appropriate teaching and learning that sets strong foundations for future success.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Curriculum Leadership – designing, implementing, and reviewing P–4 curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment in line with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements.
  • Staff Mentoring and Support – coaching and supporting teachers (including early career teachers), leading collaborative planning, and fostering professional growth.
  • Student Learning and Intervention – ensuring early identification of learning needs, promoting inclusive education, and embedding data-informed practices that drive improved student outcomes.
  • Community Engagement – communicating effectively with parents about curriculum approaches, supporting smooth transitions, and promoting understanding of contemporary educational practice.
  • Administration and Compliance – overseeing curriculum documentation, assessment schedules, and compliance processes while supporting broader school improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and teacher registration with QCT (or eligibility for accreditation).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective and innovative teaching practices.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching in the early and primary years.
  • A strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum (Prep–4) and evidence-based pedagogy.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working rights.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate study in education, curriculum leadership, or school leadership.
  • Experience in data-informed practice and early intervention.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education strategies and differentiation.
