What you'll be doing in this role
The Diversional Therapist will coordinate, integrate, and lead the assessment, planning, and delivery of Diversional Therapy for individuals and groups within our residential care setting. This role focuses on enhancing residents' quality of life through tailored leisure and lifestyle programs and activities.
Who we're looking for
- A Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or Diversional Therapist Degree qualification recognized by the Diversional Therapy Association of Australia National Council
- Demonstrated competence in planning, implementing, and evaluating individual and group activity programs
- Experience developing social, leisure, and recreational activities for older adults, including those with dementia
- Ability to provide holistic care within a multidisciplinary aged care team
- First Aid Certificate
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Your duties may include
- Analyze residents' social and interest assessments to create personalized activity plans
- Coordinate with management and external providers to secure resources and venues
- Prepare cost-effective activity schedules and ensure participation aligns with residents' capabilities
- Gather feedback to adjust programs for continual improvement and resident enjoyment
- Evaluate program effectiveness and resource utilization regularly
- Collaborate with service clubs, volunteers, and community groups to enrich residents' experiences
