Company Description

Umbrellus is a regenerative design studio reimagining outdoor infrastructure through nature-based materials like mycelium and agricultural byproducts. We design with a long view — where infrastructure doesn't just exist
on
the land, but grows
with
it.

Our collection spans canopy shelters for vineyards and urban spaces, as well as Bior Illume — our sculptural lighting and object design project rooted in slow, sensory, living materials.

We are preparing to launch our first field pilots and design collaborations in 2025. As we grow, we're seeking a creative mind to help us articulate our evolving identity and deepen our visual presence.

About the Role

We're looking for a
Brand & Content Intern
to help shape and express the Umbrellus and Bior Illume brands across digital and print formats.

This role blends
design sensibility
with
storytelling clarity
— ideal for someone who sees branding as a form of care and curation.

You'll be responsible for maintaining a refined, cohesive presence across Instagram and supporting materials - not for hype or volume, but to resonate quietly and deeply with the right people: architects, growers, designers, cultural curators, and partners.

What You'll Work On

  • Refine and manage our
    Instagram grid and stories
    , with a calm, grounded rhythm
  • Create elegant visual content using
    Canva, Figma, or Adobe tools
  • Translate renderings, process images, and product prototypes into brand-aligned content
  • Collaborate with architecture and events interns to document site work and workshops
  • Help create light collateral
    for high-end partners (PDFs, lookbooks, flyers)
  • Build a living brand library (colour, texture, tone, typography references)

  • Are sensitive to detail — in how things look, feel, and flow
  • Feel at home between worlds: nature and architecture, craft and strategy, art and impact

  • Have experience with tools like Canva, InDesign, or Figma — or a strong willingness to learn
  • Are based in Melbourne (or nearby) and open to in-person collaborations
