Who We Are & Why We're Different

headspace Darwin
, led by
Anglicare NT
, is a youth-focused, early intervention mental health service supporting
young people aged 12–25
. Our services operate across
Casuarina and Palmerston
, delivering multidisciplinary care that includes:

  • Clinical services
  • Peer support
  • Social and emotional well-being programs
  • Psychiatry
  • Family-inclusive practice

If you're tired of carrying risk alone… this is different
. Collaboration isn't optional. Clinical decisions are shared, supervision is embedded, and reflective practice is protected time — not something you squeeze in after hours. We are committed to delivering
culturally responsive, trauma-informed care
. Our staff are supported through
strong clinical supervision
,
peer reflection
, and
extensive professional development opportunities
. We foster a workplace culture that prioritises
wellbeing, collaboration, and professional growth
.

Two Great Roles. One Shared Mission to Improve Youth Mental Health

We are recruiting for
two key roles
to support our
headspace Darwin
programs:

  • Clinical Lead
  • Senior Clinician

Both positions offer the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, deliver
evidence-based interventions
, and help shape services that make a meaningful difference for young people and their families.

These roles matter because young people don't arrive at headspace at their best — they arrive when things are hard.

Your role is to ensure they feel safe, understood, and supported — while knowing
you
are equally supported by your team.

Why These Roles Matter

Clinical Lead roles will be allocated to either the Primary program, depending on service needs and applicant expertise.

As a
Clinical Lead
, you will:

  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership across the Primary team - Four key streams including mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD).
  • Deliver clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions alongside leadership responsibilities
  • Guide, mentor, and support staff in evidence-based practice
  • Contribute to program development, supervision, and service quality
  • Hold accountability for clinical quality, supervision, service coordination, and continuous improvement across program

As a
Senior Clinician
, you will:

  • Work with young people at risk of or experiencing early psychosis
  • Support collaborative, family-inclusive, and culturally safe care
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary, outcome-focused team environment

Whether you're leading or delivering care, your contribution will shape better mental health outcomes across the Top End.

You Know Mental Health. We Know You Belong Here

You'll thrive here if you value:

  • Shared decision-making over working in isolation
  • Reflective practice over rigid hierarchy
  • Cultural humility over "having all the answers"
  • Accountability that's supportive, not punitive

For the Clinical Lead:

  • You're a skilled clinician and natural mentor who thrives in a leadership role
  • You believe in collaborative, strengths-based approaches and want to help others grow

For the Senior Clinician:

  • You're passionate about youth mental health and ready for the next step in your clinical journey
  • You value teamwork, cultural safety, and supporting early intervention in complex presentations

In both roles, your ability to listen deeply, reflect openly, and walk alongside young people and families will set you apart.

Why These Roles Will Reward You

  • Competitive salaries aligned with HPSS levels
  • NT PHN relocation grant (~$3,500)
  • Additional relocation/retention incentives (negotiable)
  • Travel support between Casuarina & Palmerston (fleet vehicles)
  • Accommodation and expenses covered for work in Katherine if required
  • Ongoing professional development that actually fits into your workload (CBT, DBT, Single Session, Family Inclusive Practice)
  • Protected supervision and reflective spaces — because good clinicians shouldn't work in isolation
  • Supportive onboarding and employee wellbeing programs (including EAP)
