CJ Digital is a Melbourne-based digital agency working with small and medium-sized businesses across Australia. Our office is located in Hawthorn. We specialise in website development, digital marketing, hosting and ongoing support, helping our clients build a strong and effective digital presence.

We're growing and are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help drive new client acquisition and revenue growth.

About the role

This is a customer-facing sales role focused on winning new business. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, managing inbound referrals, meeting with prospective clients, understanding their needs, and presenting practical digital solutions.

You'll manage the sales process from first contact through to signed agreement, then work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover once a deal is closed.

This role suits someone who enjoys meeting people face-to-face, building relationships, and selling consultatively rather than transactionally.

What you'll be doing

· Managing incoming referrals via multiple channels.

· Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the SME market

· Generating leads through outbound prospecting, referrals, partnerships and networking

· Conducting discovery sessions to understand client goals and challenges

· Presenting CJ Digital's services, including websites, digital marketing and ongoing support

· Preparing and negotiating proposals within agreed commercial frameworks

· Closing deals that are clearly scoped and commercially sound

· Completing structured handovers to internal teams once contracts are signed

· Providing market and client feedback to support continuous improvement

Regular travel across Melbourne and occasional regional or interstate travel is required.

What we're looking for

· Proven B2B sales experience, ideally within digital, technology or professional services

· Strong communication skills and confidence meeting clients face-to-face

· A consultative approach to sales with good commercial judgement

· Ability to manage multiple opportunities and work independently

· Well organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working to targets

· Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel

Experience selling digital services to SMEs will be highly regarded.
