Position: Casual Greenkeeper

Position Overview

As a Greenkeeper, you will play a key role in maintaining the health, appearance, and quality of the lawn bowls greens and grounds. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, knowledge of turf management, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Turf Management: Care for and maintain bowling greens, including mowing, watering, and fertilizing.
• Pest & Disease Control: Monitor and treat turf for pests, weeds, and diseases as needed.
• General Groundskeeping: Maintain all outdoor areas of the club, ensuring cleanliness and aesthetic appeal.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning and upkeep of lawn care equipment.
• Health & Safety: Follow safe working practices and ensure the safety of club members and staff.
• Collaboration: Work with club members and management to schedule maintenance around events and club activities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in turf management, horticulture, or a similar field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lawn bowls green maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with equipment used in turf care and landscaping.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• A genuine passion for maintaining high-quality greens for recreational and competitive play.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Qualifications in Turf Management, Horticulture, or a related field.
• First Aid and/or Health & Safety certifications.
• ChemCert Accreditation for spraying of insecticides.
