Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team full-time. As a Chef at The South Corner cafe and restaurant, you will be responsible for creating and preparing high-quality dishes that meet our customers' expectations. You will work closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain our high standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and restaurant standards

- Ensure all dishes are presented in an attractive and appetizing manner

- Monitor food stock levels and place orders when necessary

- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations

- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and specials

- Assist with menu planning and cost control

- Handle and store food products in a safe and efficient manner

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Chef in a similar role

- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods

- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality dishes

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

- Food safety and hygiene certification

- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
