About the role

The Veterinary Pathologist performs diagnostic services including necropsy and histopathology to support animal health investigations and disease surveillance activities.

This unique role sits within a supportive and experienced team and includes the provision of diagnostic services across a broad range of terrestrial and aquatic species.

Located in Tasmania's north, Launceston is full of experiences for nature lovers, foodies and culture enthusiasts alike. Maximise fun in winter with a ski, snowboard or toboggan down snow-capped Ben Lomond, or access pristine world heritage nature sites, stunning alpine scenery, beaches and scenic coastlines, all within an hour from Launceston.

Our ideal candidate has
  • University qualifications in Veterinary Science and registrable in Tasmania under Veterinary Surgeons Act 1987.
  • Technical expertise in interpretive gross pathology and histopathology.
  • Membership qualifications in Pathobiology with the ANZCVSc and/or board certification (American College of Veterinary Pathologists).
