Our client (the firm) is a well-established high-performing Investment funds management group with close to $4B under management,  which is actively investing in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China listed and unlisted equity, debt and real estate investment portfolio.

The firm is looking for a smart, experienced, entrepreneurial portfolio investment specialist to join our growing funds management business.

The firm has a diversified investment fund, a series of real estate investment funds including REITs, a listed property securities fund, technology-focused venture capital fund, and unlisted investment funds focused on Asia Pacific.

The firm stands out from other investment managers for its long-term focus, differentiated investment process, diverse investor base, and strong backing by parent company.

The portfolio investment specialist will work in our core investing team which generates ideas and provides coverage across all our strategies.  The right person for this role is a passionate, experienced investor who shares our long-term, growth-focused orientation. They embrace challenges and want to accelerate their career by getting in early at a growing funds management business that has made significant investments for growth and scale and has the potential for additional funds and strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Uncovering and evaluating new potential investment opportunities with a focus on Asia Pacific markets.

• Monitoring existing holdings and portfolios. 

• Product development.

• Establishing internal and external thought leadership. 

• Contributing to content such as investor letters, blog posts, marketing materials, and assorted other media. 

• Meeting with companies, analysts, and brokers. 

• Engaging with current and potential investors. 

• Achieving the best possible long-term returns for our investors.

Requirements:

• Deep background in business models predicated on intellectual property.

• An impressive track record of investing performance.


• High ethical standards.

• Passion for long-term, growth-oriented investing. 

• Advanced knowledge of financial statements.


• Strong analysis and research capacity.

• Ability to communicate complex ideas simply.

• Time management skills.

• Entrepreneurial spirit.

• Good sense of humour.

• 3 plus years of personal experience investing in the share market.
