Altona, Australia Accessible Care Full time $41,000 - $50,000 per year

Accessible Care is seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. This role will focus on providing high-quality, individualised support to participants with complex needs, including Autism Level 3, non-verbal communication, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and behaviours of concern.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, person-centred supports in line with participants' NDIS goals and care plans.
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, personal care, community access, and skill development.
  • Use proactive behaviour support strategies to reduce incidents of concern and promote wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with allied health professionals, behaviour support practitioners, and families to ensure consistent care.
  • Accurately complete documentation, including shift notes, behaviour data, and incident reports.
  • Maintain a respectful, empathetic, and supportive approach at all times.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with participants with Autism Level 3 and complex behavioural needs is essential.
  • Strong understanding of non-verbal communication methods and alternative communication supports (e.g., AAC, PECS).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting participants with OCD and behaviours of concern.
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support plans and restrictive practice safeguards under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle (preferred).

Pay: $41.00 – $50.00 per hour
