Serving over 1,000 students from Foundation to Year 12, the College integrates Coptic Orthodox values into every aspect of learning, fostering integrity, compassion, and respect for others.

SMCO is seeking an energetic and passionate Primary Classroom teacher, with the desire to be part of a collaborative teaching team and to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences for our students.

This position is a 12-months contract to commence Term

Essential Requirements

Ability to teach Years Foundation – Year 6 is required.

Actively support SMCO's Coptic Orthodox Christian ethos and values.

Skills and Attributes

To be successful in the role, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

·       A passion for teaching.

·       Energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to grow.

·       Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.

·       Excellent time management skills.

Key Selection Criteria

• Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Relevant qualifications and subject knowledge.
• Strong understanding of the Primary curriculum and pedagogy, with the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
• Commitment to using technology as an essential learning tool in the classroom.
• Demonstrated understanding of differentiated learning to meet diverse student needs.
• Proven ability to build constructive and positive relationships with students that foster a love of learning.
• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
