Workfast is seeking an experienced Reo Cage Operator for a long-term infrastructure project in Adelaide. You will be working at our client's facility in Salisbury, SA.

This role involves fabricating and assembling reinforcing steel cages using specialised machinery and tools.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in concrete, construction, or steel fabrication
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret plans/drawings
  • Strong work ethic and the physical fitness required for a labour-intensive role
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
  • Relevant certifications, such as overhead or gantry crane operation (preferred but not essential)

Preferred (but not essential)

  • Experience in steel production or reinforcement fabrication
  • Forklift tickets
  • Overhead or gantry crane ticket
  • Welding experience
  • Exposure to large civil infrastructure projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate reinforcing steel by cutting and bending bars to specification
  • Assemble and weld rebar cages for concrete structures
  • Operate machinery such as rebar benders, cutters, and potentially overhead/gantry cranes
  • Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure quality and compliance
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a tidy work area
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines
