Purpose of the Position
The Bus Driver is responsible and accountable for driving the residents safely to all designated locations and ensuring prompt arrival and departure.
The position is accountable and responsible in ensuring compliance with SCC policies and procedures, relevant standards, relevant legislation and accepted industry practices.
Key Result Areas
Driving:Ensure the bus is in good operating order before each trip, and all required items for the trip are available.
Team works and culture:This position is required to contribute positively to team work to achieve operational outcomes and promote a positive SCC workplace culture in alignment with SCC Values, Mission and Vision.
Stakeholder relationships:This position is required to liaise and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure effective and efficient workflow.
Work Health and Safety (WHS):This position is required to comply with and contribute to Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.
The Role:
- Inspect the vehicle prior to operation for safety purposes utilizing a designated safety check list, report any malfunctions; ensure the vehicle is in safe operational mode.
- Perform and/or coordinate basic vehicle maintenance; service vehicle with petrol, water and oil; clean exterior and interior of vehicles including picking up debris, sweeping floor, wiping upholstery and cleaning windshields and headlights.
- Maintain and update records such as incident and accident reports; report incidents which affect the safety of passengers; report mechanical defects and malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain records of all expenditure within delegated authority and prepare monthly reconciliations.
- Assisting staff with residents when on outings.
The successful candidate will be required to work across two locations: North Turramurra (two days per week) and Marsfield (one day per week), totaling six shifts per fortnight.
The shift schedule is outlined below:
- North Turramurra - 9 am -3:30pm (Wednesday & Friday)
- Marsfield - 9 am - 3:30pm (Thursday)
