Reporting to the Public Facilities Supervisor, you'll play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, sustainability, and environmental standards of the island. This role involves operating garbage collection and hook trucks, managing recycling and general waste, and contributing to continuous improvements in waste management across the island.

- Safely operate garbage collection and hook trucks for general waste and recycling materials
- Manage the compaction of general waste and assist in improving recycling systems across the island
- Operate loader, forklift, cardboard baler, and oil separator equipment
- Liaise with island departments to ensure timely and accurate waste collection and deliveries
- Complete required paperwork and administrative tasks accurately
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives as directed by the Supervisor or Public Facilities Manager
You're a proactive team player who takes pride in keeping environments safe, clean, and sustainable. You're physically fit, safety-conscious, and reliable, with a commitment to maintaining high operational standards and contributing positively to island life.
To be successful, you'll need- Current MR, HR, or HC driver's licence (Essential)
- Current forklift licence/ticket (Essential)
- Previous experience in waste management, transport, or logistics with a sound driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safe work practices and environmental sustainability
