About the Department
The Department of Rheumatology provides specialist non-surgical care and treatment, on an inpatient and outpatient basis, to patients with rheumatic illnesses involving problems with joint, soft tissues and autoimmune diseases arising from an inappropriate immune response of the body. The Unit evaluates and treats all forms of arthritis and has a range of sub-speciality clinics. The Unit is interested in the ways in which imaging may facilitate the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases, most recently ultrasound and PET/CT scanning.
