Street Cleaning Operator

About the opportunity

With a focus on public maintenance and the beautification of Blacktown City, we are seeking 2 enthusiastic individuals to join our Street Cleaning team on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will assist in the daily functions of the section, including:

• manual and mechanical street sweeping
• cleansing of nominated utilities
• removal of unwanted and/or orphan wastes.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

• Relevant accreditations in a related field
• Current class HR driver's licence.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in waste management collection and/or removal or similar field
• Relevant experience and appropriate qualifications in accordance with requirements outlined in the position description
• Well-developed communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to locate properties using a street directory, directions and signage
• Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Availability to work flexible working hours.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

• Entry level for this position starts at $1,256.79 per week
• 38-hour working week
• Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
