About the role
WAMMCO International, a progressive farmer-owned meat processing co-operative, is seeking an experienced Lairage Supervisor to lead operations in stock arrivals, holding yards, paddocks – including irrigation and seasonal cropping, and lairage areas at our Katanning facility.
What you'll be doing
- Supervise, train, and support lairage employees.
- Ensure livestock welfare, including feeding, watering, health monitoring, and humane destruction when required.
- Maintain animal lot identities, cleanliness, and prepare daily run-up and kill sheets.
- Liaise with Slaughterfloor, Skins, Livestock, and Production teams to prevent production delays.
- Promote workplace safety, conduct inspections, and maintain compliance with OHS requirements.
- Organise removal of dead stock and maintain lairage, paddocks, and stockyards in a hygienic condition.
- Support cost-saving initiatives, job rotation, and training needs.
About you
- Proven experience in livestock handling or agricultural operations.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of animal welfare, OHS, and hygiene standards.
Desirable attributes
- Animal Husbandry training
- Farm experience
- First Aid Certificate
- Relevant licences (forklift, loader, livestock transport)
