Driver Academy- Open Cohort

Location: Crestmead, QLD

    • Start date- Early December
    • Program tailored for all genders
    • Morning shift: start time from 2-4am- 12pm

The Role

This role will require you to service multiple customer sites. Your role includes collecting liquid waste (oils/septic) into a rigid tanker truck and transporting to our disposal plant for recycling.  Due to the physical nature of the role, candidates must be comfortable performing manual handling, heavy lifting and also working at heights. 

You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet. You will be required to operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with company regulations, complete all paperwork and records accurately.

Must be willing to take a Pre-employment medical, including passing a drug & alcohol test and Police Check.

As a HR Driver you will be responsible for:

  • Collection vehicle
  • Performing loading and unloading duties of waste product
  • Delivering loads to nominated disposals facilities
  • Ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Maintaining presentation of the vehicle, inside and out
  • Comfortable with a high level of manual handling and heights

What is in it for you?

As part of closing the gender gap of drivers in the waste management industry, Cleanaway is running a Driver Academy to address substantive equality for all by removing some of the barriers preventing them from getting involved. Cleanaway is seeking multiple individuals to participate in an intensive training program which includes licencing and other training required to set you up to be a HR licenced truck driver, followed by ongoing learning for the next 12 months.

Paid 5-week training program will include:

  • Obtain Heavy Vehicle Licence Open (HR) Manual
  • Dangerous goods licence & EPA certification- If required
  • Uniforms and PPE
  • Training program to become a drive

To be part of the program

  • Hold a current unrestricted driver's licence for a minimum of 24 months
  • Driving History Check with a minimum of 8 demerit points remaining
  • No heavy vehicle driving experience required
  • Passionate about working as a team
