Our Client, Black Swan Plant Hire Pty Ltd is a company based in Balcatta, WA, specialising in wet plant hire and equipment solutions for the civil and construction industries. The business provides a range of modern machinery—including excavators, utility vehicles, and drainage crews—operated by skilled professionals to ensure efficient and reliable project delivery.
Looking for:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our growing team. As a Maintenance Planner, you will be integral in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our plant hire equipment, including scheduling regular maintenance, repairs, and servicing. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and planning skills, a deep understanding of plant machinery, and experience in managing maintenance schedules and compliance requirements in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance activities for plant hire equipment, including excavators, utility vehicles, and other machinery.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for all plant equipment.
• Develop and maintain an efficient preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and optimize equipment usage.
• Oversee and manage repairs, servicing, and inspections of machinery and vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely availability of parts and maintenance resources.
• Monitor and manage maintenance costs to ensure adherence to budgets and performance targets.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Identify opportunities for improving the operational efficiency and performance of plant machinery.
• Ensure that all machinery and vehicles are serviced according to industry best practices and operational requirements.
• Support team members and contractors in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
• Report regularly to management on the status of maintenance activities, equipment condition, and any emerging issues.
• Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements in plant machinery, and compliance requirements.
Skills and Attributes:
• Proven experience in maintenance planning or scheduling, ideally in the plant hire, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
• Strong knowledge of plant machinery, including excavators, utility vehicles, and other heavy equipment.
• Experience using maintenance management software and tools.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to identify maintenance issues before they lead to significant downtime.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external contractors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and maintain operational efficiency.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and compliance regulations.
• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma qualification in Engineering or a related field is required.
• A relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Engineering or equivalent) is preferred.
Job Type & Salary:
• This is a full-time permanent position.
• The base salary will be $95,000 - $105,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work based on operational requirements.
