Sales Representative - Hunter Region (Fortnightly Travel to Ulan, NSW)

The Role
As a Hunter Region Sales Representative, you will be responsible for representing SMI across the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens focusing on mining and industrial sectors. You'll work to establish and grow relationships, identify business opportunities, and develop tailored solutions for clients. This full-time, field-based position requires you to be highly motivated, with a focus on business growth and customer satisfaction. You will also be required to travel to Ulan, NSW, on a fortnightly basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients across the Hunter Region and Ulan area.
- Sales Growth & Business Development: Actively pursue new business opportunities within your territory and expand the customer base. You'll be identifying untapped markets to increase revenue and market share.
- Solution Selling: Offer tailored product and service solutions based on client needs, ensuring maximum satisfaction.
- Quoting & Proposals: Prepare and present accurate quotes and proposals to potential clients.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and the Branch Manager to ensure smooth order processing, timely delivery, and excellent customer service.
- Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities for business development.
- Customer Support: Provide exceptional after-sales service, ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction and retention.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, tracking leads and customer interactions efficiently.
- Sales Reporting: Regularly report on sales activities and business development efforts to the National Business Development Manager (NBDM) and Branch Manager.
Key Requirements
We're looking for candidates who have:
- Sales & Business Development Experience: Proven experience in sales, preferably within the mining or industrial sectors. Experience with mining contractors or clients is highly desirable (3-5 years).
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport and trust.
- Self-Motivation & Drive: A highly driven, results-oriented mindset focused on achieving targets and identifying new opportunities.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional time management and organizational abilities to manage a large territory.
- Driver's License: A current, valid driver's license is essential.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems.
- Bonus Skills: Knowledge of industrial and safety products and experience with SAP would be advantageous.
