About the opportunity

Olive Grove House is looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to be part of its very successful Day Centre program on a permanent part time basis. As part of the Olive Grove House team, you are responsible for the planning and delivery of social and recreational programs to support older clients living in the community to maintain and enhance their social connectedness and independence.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Partner with clients to encourage client directed decision making to plan, implement, facilitate and evaluate group activities, encourage appropriate participation of all clients.

· Foster a warm and inclusive environment where clients feel welcomed, heard, and part of a vibrant community.

· Assist clients with daily activities while encouraging their independence and enhances their dignity and right to make informed choices.

· Assist with client transport, arranging client meals, undertaking ordering, and purchasing of supplies for the client activities.

· Drive 12-seater vehicle to pick up/ drop off clients attending programs and during outings, facilitate special activities, outings and events from time to time.

· Assist clients with personal care needs.

· Applying 'Person Centered Care' approach to implementing and contributing to individualized Care Plans in consultation with of clients' family member.

· Reporting all maintenance and safety issues.

· Assist and maintain a clean, safe environment for guests and staff.

· Basic computer skills

Key Requirements:

· Certificate III in Aged Care is essential.

· Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or working towards.

· Documentation: client files, progress notes and updating care plans.

· Current First Aid certificate (with CPR) or willing to obtain.

· Current NDIS Screening Check or willing to obtain.

· Three doses of Covid 19 Vaccination.
