We work closely with clients to source and place expert talent in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations and transformation projects.

We are looking for a seasoned Business Central Technical Lead Consultant to join a client's delivery team. This client is a Microsoft partner and has their Head Office based in Sydney. In this role, you'll act as both a technical expert and trusted advisor — leading full lifecycle Business Central projects from discovery through architecture, development, deployment, and support.

You will engage with clients in various industries to understand processes, design solutions, and deliver robust, scalable Business Central implementations. You will also mentor and coordinate cross-functional teams (functional consultants, developers, project managers) to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Client Engagement & Analysis

• Lead discovery and requirements-gathering workshops with stakeholders
• Capture current business processes, pain points, and future-state requirements
• Conduct fit/gap analysis and document functional and technical requirements

Solution Design & Architecture

• Architect scalable Business Central solutions, including customizations, integrations, and extensions
• Translate design into technical specifications, working with development teams
• Recommend and enforce best practices, leveraging the latest Dynamics 365 tools

Implementation & Delivery

• Oversee configuration, development, and customization of Business Central modules (e.g., Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Projects, Manufacturing)
• Lead data migration, ensuring data integrity and quality
• Manage system testing, UAT (user acceptance testing), and go-live deployment
• Deliver training workshops and provide post-implementation support to maximise adoption

Team Leadership

• Serve as the lead consultant, coordinating work across functional consultants, developers, and project managers
• Mentor junior team members in both technical and functional areas
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project timelines

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current on the latest Dynamics 365 Business Central capabilities, Microsoft ecosystem updates, and industry trends
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements, and new integrations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV
• Deep understanding of core Business Central modules: Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Projects, Manufacturing
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
• Experience with AL development, extension design, integrations, and customizations (highly desirable)
• Strong leadership and mentoring experience with cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills — able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and lead client workshops
• Analytical mindset, problem-solving orientation, and a client-centric delivery approach
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications (or equivalent) are a strong plus
