Chief of Staff

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Influx Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

We're looking for a
Chief of Staff
to partner with our Chief Delivery Officer. This is a leadership role designed to deliver measurable improvements in client retention and margin.

At Influx, the Delivery function owns the entire post-sale client lifecycle: service delivery operations, client retention, and margin growth across a global team of 1,000+ people. The Chief of Staff will be the bridge between
client insight, product innovation, and operational execution.

You'll work directly with our CDO and our founders. For the right person, this role is also a clear succession pathway into a senior executive seat within twelve months.

What You Will Do

As Chief of Staff, you'll help us scale smarter by making sure the good things we already do become stronger, more consistent, and more connected. You'll turn client insights into clear actions, acting as a neutral advocate for the client experience and guiding improvements in training, reporting, and service interactions.

You'll partner with Sales, Delivery, HR, and Finance to make sure our teams are working in sync. That means leading pilots, managing change, and codifying lessons into playbooks. Using data, you'll tell the story of what works and what doesn't, building dashboards that inform smarter decisions. And you'll work with functional leads to spot opportunities for improvement early, helping us keep pace as we grow.

Key focus areas:

  • Listen deeply to clients and transform feedback into action
  • Facilitate product-market fit through client insights and scalable offerings.
  • Lead cross-functional pilots and change programs that align key functions.
  • Build reporting and dashboards that link delivery outcomes to commercial performance.
  • Diagnose bottlenecks, optimise processes, and embed improvements long term.

What success looks like

  • Stronger growth
    – NRR and margins improve because onboarding is sharper, clients stay longer, and services are built to scale.
  • Clarity through data
    – Leaders and executives work from a single source of truth, with reporting that is clear and consistent.
  • Trusted succession
    – The CDO has a capable 2IC, confident in both detail and strategy, ready to step into the role if needed.

What We're Looking For

You've led cross-functional initiatives in services, SaaS, or consulting, where success depended on both design and execution. You know how to sit with clients, draw out real insights, and translate them into service models and commercial decisions. You're also hands-on with analytics, taking messy data and turning it into clear, usable stories.

Alongside this, you bring strong commercial and leadership skills:

  • Understanding of ICPs, pricing, and margin levers
  • Ability to coach functional leads and influence senior peers
  • Confidence to hold teams accountable and drive outcomes
  • Resilience and a results-driven mindset
  • Motivation to connect client needs with how the organisation delivers

Location

  • Melbourne-based, with direct exposure to global leadership.

Our Values

At Influx, our values aren't just words — they guide how we work together every day:

  • Do what you say you're going to do
  • Treat others as you want to be treated
  • Show, don't tell
  • Prioritize the listener when communicating
  • Create a high-performance work environment that enables a life outside of work

Why Influx?

At Influx, we're a services company that thrives on change. We work with high-growth businesses worldwide, helping them deliver better support and client experiences. Joining us means having the mandate (and the muscle) to make things better — fast.
