Role purposeThe Legal Counsel is responsible for advising and supporting Vicinity Centres in relation to a wide range of technology-related matters, including digital technology initiatives, procurement of IT services and platforms, and broader commercial contracting. In this role, you will be accountable for advising on a variety of technology legal matters, drafting documentation, identifying legal exposures and risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This role reports to Managing Legal Counsel and is critical to Vicinity Centres' operations and strategic objectives. You will be part of a supportive, high-performing legal team, working collaboratively on wider business objectives and act as key advisor for internal stakeholders, projects, and technology initiatives.
What will you bring?
You will be a highly motivated and commercially minded technology lawyer with a strategic focus and outstanding business acumen. You will have demonstrated high level commercial, drafting and negotiation skills and be recognised for your integrity and ability to build trust across different stakeholders.
You will have the ability to think strategically whilst maintaining an eye for detail, outstanding communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business. You will have strong experience in technology law, commercial contracting, and data protection, and be able to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Tertiary qualifications in law are essential, with admission to practice in Australia required.
