About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Director to join our established team in our Burpengaryservice. The role of an Assistant Director is a busy and varied one. With a strong focus on being hands on with the team in a coaching and mentoring capacity. The successful candidate will assist the Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the centre, including ensuring that the centre meets all legal and regulatory requirements, providing high-quality care and education to children, managing staff, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in managing all aspects of the childcare centre, including staffing, budgeting, curriculum planning, and program development.
- Supervise and provide ongoing support and training to staff, ensuring that they meet all legal and regulatory requirements and provide high-quality care and education to children.
- Updating and managing the service Inclusion Support Portal and claims. Working with the rooms on support plans and inclusion strategies.
- Implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.
- Build positive relationships with families and the community, and act as a liaison between the centre and outside agencies and organizations.
- Support the team on the floor in times of need.
- Support the Educational Leader to implement the educational program.
About you:
- ACECQA Approved Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- 2 years experience in a similar role
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to provide high-quality care and education to children.
- Current Working with Children Check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families and the community.
- Strong Knowledge and experience of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Strong computer skills
- Current approved First Aid Certificate
- Current approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Experience with OWNA an advantage
